For ‘queering the wheel’ at Houston Center for Contemporary Craft. Work was presented via each artists vehicle. This piece has two phones with looping videos mounted onto the dashboard. One video plays the artists phone screen as they browse Grindr, a gay hookup app. The other plays audio of the artist and their partner discussing cruising and a defunct lesbian bar, Chances, as a video of the GPS route from the artists’ home to the defunct bars location loops. To experience the video and audio, audience members had to sit in the back of the car amongst a sea of condoms, underwear, and poppers.
